The Institute of Living, one of the first mental health centers in the U.S., remains one of America’s leading not-for-profit centers for patient care, research and education in the fields of behavioral, psychiatric and addiction disorder. Through our dedicated, experienced and skilled clinicians, we provide patients and their families with the highest quality of personalized care. Programs are offered for children, adolescents and adults struggling with mental illness as well as offering services specializing in Anxiety, Eating Disorders, and Geriatric Services.

Job Summary

• Provides instruction on physical fitness as it relates to all aspects of general health and wellness.

Job Responsibilities

1. Designs fitness programs for various patient populations.
2. Organizes and instructs exercise classes for all fitness levels.
3. Ensures that all participants are properly trained on the use of the facility's exercise equipment.
4. Develops and markets general health and wellness programs.
5. Presents educational lectures/programs throughout the community.
6. Carries out safety and infection control procedures according to protocols to ensure a safe environment.
7. Promotes and educations patients about the benefits of yoga with focus on improving overall well-being.
8. Maintains specialized training as required for ongoing certification.
9. Other Duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Certified Yoga Instructor
• Experience facilitating yoga classes with diverse populations, including adults, geriatrics, children and adolescents with mental health diagnosis
• Experience teaching mindfulness and various relaxation techniques in a group setting
• Trauma Informed Yoga Teacher Training is preferred
• Experience in an acute care, extended care, rehabilitation, mental health, or outpatient setting is preferred
