Position Specifics
Hartford HealthCare Rehabilitation Network is seeking a Sports Physical Therapist (PT) who has a passion for patient care in the area of outpatient orthopedics and sports medicine. This candidate will work out of our state-of-the-art Bone and Joint Institute clinic in Hartford. Additionally, this position will support our athletic trainers at both the University of Hartford and Trinity College. Candidates are preferred to be dual credentialed in physical therapy and athletic training or those who are seeking board certification in sports. The Sports Physical Therapist independently evaluates, determines treatment strategies, delivers and/or delegates services, collaborates and coordinates care with the athletic training staff and sports medicine physicians. This role encompasses evaluation skills and techniques, analysis of patients, therapeutic application of physical and chemical agents, and exercises to maximize patient's functional independence. Evaluation involves strength, motor control, joint mobility, soft tissue integrity, pain, balance, coordination, posture, cardiopulmonary function, endurance, gait and functional abilities in activities of daily living. Job responsibilities during the school year will be 36 hours of clinical care and 4+ hours of working within the athletic training room including potential sporting event coverage.

Qualifications
· Minimum of 3 years’ Experience
· Advanced certifications (FMS, CDN, AAOMPT)
· ABPTS OCS, SCS preferred but not required
· Dual credentialed as an ATC preferred but not required
· Experience in sports medicine and functional movement assessments
· Ability to work in fast paced orthopedic and sports medicine team atmosphere
· Experience with biomechanics preferred but not required
· Bilingual a benefit
· Interest in Research
· Graduate of Physical Therapy Program from an accredited American Physical Therapy Association school, BS degree or entry level master's degree.
· CT active license.
