JOB OPPORTUNITY: Nocturnist Physicians
Hartford HealthCare Medical Group, Inc. (“HHCMG”) seeks two full-time Nocturnist Physicians to: accept admission for all adult patients presenting to Hartford Hospital in Hartford, CT for admission under its patient acceptance policy; meet the needs (health care, communication, other as appropriate) of patients and their families in a timely manner; engage in timely consultation with and care for patients already admitted to or being consulted on by Hospital Medicine services; deliver documentation in the written and electronic record, consistent with HHCMG’s clinical documentation and quality metric programs; help to develop, modify, maintain and adhere to evidenced-based best practice guidelines for patient care; assure effective communication and transition of patients and optimize quality of patient care by working closely and collaboratively with: emergency department physicians, other specialty services to attain appropriate services and to assure consultation to and from other specialty services; and by making referrals to community physicians; work with existing programs and help to develop new and innovative systems to achieve the highest measures of quality of care, resource utilization and inpatient care; work with other members of medical staff to develop roles and provide leadership in committees, task forces and other areas related to inpatient care and patient transition; and grow knowledge related to patient care and to Hartford Hospital and Hartford HealthCare system through continuing education and extend to others knowledge of Hospital Medicine by participating in educational and committee activities. This position will be exclusively assigned to work overnight shifts and will work at Hartford Hospital, 80 Seymour Street, Hartford, CT 06106.
Qualifications
The minimum requirements for the Nocturnist Physician position are: a U.S. medical degree or its foreign equivalent; completion of a three-year residency in internal medicine; board eligibility or certification in internal medicine; and the possession of or eligibility for an unrestricted Connecticut medical license.
