Job Schedule: Part Time
Standard Hours: 32
Job Shift: Shift 3
Shift Details: 32 hours night shift 11pm - 730pm - every other weekend and holiday

For more than 118 years, Backus Hospital has been the primary source of healthcare services for much of Eastern Connecticut. We are home to the only trauma center in New London and Windham counties, and are the only area hospital with LIFE STAR helicopter services. We deliver and coordinate a continuum of high-quality healthcare with the goal of improving the health of our communities.

 

JOB SUMMARY
Promotes patient safety and comfort through one-to-one monitoring or continual patient observation and care.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent.


Experience: No experience necessary.


License and Certification: N/A


PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
Education:
Associates Degree.


Experience: Previous experience in a healthcare environment.

 
License and Certification: N/A

 
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to read and understand oral and written instructions, and effectively communicate information. Basic computer skills (including opening/reading email, basic internet use).
Strong customer service orientation. Effectively communicates with patients, employees, physicians and managers. Must be organized, flexible and a team player. Ability to work in a stressful environment. Ability to handle multiple priorities. Demonstrates initiative in all job related activities.


PROBLEM SOLVING AND DECISION MAKING
Requires the ability to recognize problem situations and refer them to the appropriate staff member. Work is performed in accordance with instructions and procedures. Requires the ability to exercise discretion and use good judgment. Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
