Hartford HealthCare, the largest and most comprehensive healthcare system in Connecticut, has a new growth opportunity for a Surgical Physician Assistant, to join our breast surgery team to provide value-based care to patients in outpatient settings in Central CT including Meriden, Cheshire and Hamden.

Some highlights of this opportunity include:

  • Breast Surgery Physician Assistants provide patient centered care on a long-term basis to breast surgery patients in an ambulatory setting, and assist with follow up and post-operative appointments, initial non-cancer consults, office-based procedures, and ongoing survivorship care.
  • Breast Surgery Physician Assistants will assist in the operating room on breast surgical cases including lumpectomies, mastectomies, other breast excisions and lymph node surgeries; responsibilities will also include pre-operative assessment, order placement for operative cases, post-operative charting and medication management, assistance with FMLA and other paperwork for breast patients. Experience with Epic EHR is helpful but not required.

Qualifications

  • Eligibility to be licensed in Connecticut as a Physician Assistant (PA)
  • Eligibility to be certified as a Physician Assistant (PA) is required.
  • Surgery or oncology experience preferred.
