We provide rehabilitation services across the continuum - acute care hospitals, long term care facilities, sub-acute rehabilitation, homecare, outpatient centers, and in community settings such as senior centers, work sites, and schools and colleges. Summary
The Rehabilitation Aide provides safe and appropriate basic patient care under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist or Speech Language Pathologist.  As a member of the rehabilitation team supports a safe and positive patient experience by assisting in the delivery of care and performing delegated multi-skilled basic patient care services.

The Rehab Aide provides support and assistance to licensed Rehabilitation Therapists in areas such as (but not limited to): Mobility, ADLs (Activities of Daily Living), movement and ambulation, and positioning. In addition, the Rehab Aide may provide support to licensed Rehabilitation Therapists in areas such as therapeutic exercise programs, group exercise programs, mobility volunteer aide program, and swallowing studies.

Responsibilities

  • Provides safe and appropriate routine patient care and support to rehabilitation services as delegated by a licensed Rehabilitation Therapist (Physical Therapist and/or Occupational Therapist and/or Speech Language Pathologist).
  • Assist Rehabilitation Therapist with treatment as directed.
  • Under supervision of a licensed Rehabilitation Therapist, may provide additional mobility for patients cleared and supervised by Rehab Therapy to increase ambulation and functional outcomes.
  • Provide clerical support including but not limited to answering phone, copying/printing, and filing.
  • Maintains inventory and restocks supplies.

Qualifications

PT/OT/SLP students encouraged to apply

  • High school graduate or equivalent required
  • Patient care experience highly preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Must be able to physically lift, and move patients in a safe manner
