Exciting opportunity to be a part of the new centralized monitoring unit at Hartford Hospital. The Monitoring Technician performs standard work related to telemetry monitoring on patients requiring continual cardiac observation and provides analysis of cardiac rhythms in compliance with all regulatory and hospital/system standards, policies, procedures, protocols and guidelines. This position also provides the interpretation, communications and documentation of cardiac rhythms and other monitored parameters.
High School diploma, GED, or 1-year relevant work experience
Successful completion of provided Hartford Hospital Arrhythmia recognition and interpretation training prior to completing orientation (ability to test out if prior experience)
Must be able to read and understand oral and written instructions, and effectively communicate information in English
Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements
Previous experience as a monitor tech, EMT, inpatient unit secretary, patient care assistant, experience performing cardiac monitoring, or as a nurse aide.
Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician [CRAT] or equivalent.
Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA)
