Shift Details: M-F 8-4:30 no holidays, no weekends

The Hospital of Central Connecticut is an acute-care community teaching hospital, we provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services in general medicine and surgery, as well as a wide variety of specialties. Staffed by our talented team of leading professionals, The Hospital of Central Connecticut provides a wide array of services throughout the region, caring for patients from birth through the end of life.

Reporting to the Practice Manager, the LPN performs a variety of telephone triage and clinical functions : Performs telephone triage and related functions for office,  Monitors selected aspects of patient assessments, Maintains a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, Maintains equipment & supplies, Documents according to guidelines, and ,maintains effective interpersonal relationships and assumes responsibility and accountability for development.

Position will support both the general surgery faculty clinic and the hand center.

Potential to cover other faculty practices as needed and directed by the practice manager.

 

 

Qualifications

Current CT LPN license required.

Critical Success Factors: 1-2 years of physician or medical office experience preferred.  Knowledge of diabetes management, ICD-9 and CPT coding preferred.  Previous phlebotomy experience preferred.  Understanding and previous experience with basic medical equipment preferred.  (I.e. EKG equipment, BP cuffs Scales, etc.)  Communication skills.  Ability to utilize universal precautions when treating patients as needed.  Ability to remain calm and focused on patients’ needs in a stressful environment.  Demonstrated sensitivity, knowledge of universal precautions, ability to work independently, and team player.
