In addition to being one of the busiest Emergency Departments in Connecticut, HHED is also an accredited Level 1 Trauma Center, chest pain center and comprehensive stroke center, treating patients of the highest acuity in the region. Comprised of 109 beds, with the addition of a new 19 bed ED Observation Unit, HHED treats an average of 109,000 patients annually.
Our nurses are renowned for thinking and acting quickly to meet the varying needs of our patients, as well as being highly skilled, flexible and resilient; with the ability to work in a team environment to provide the highest level of satisfaction to our staff and our patients.
o Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. BSN degree required; ASN/ADN RNs with relevant experience may be considered.
o Licensure: Current Connecticut RN license required prior to start date.
o Experience: 1+ year of recent medical-surgical, or comparable, experience strongly preferred
o Certifications: BLS certification by American Heart Association and proof of arrhythmia certification required prior to date of hire.
