Hartford HealthCare, the largest and most comprehensive healthcare system in Connecticut, has a new growth opportunity for a Surgical Oncology Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (APRN) to join our growing team to provide inpatient and outpatient coverage in Hartford, CT.

Some highlights of this opportunity include:

  • The Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (APRN) provides care to cancer patients, which encompasses head to toe surgical oncology, as well as patients with benign intraabdominal and soft tissue conditions.
  • Practice settings include inpatient care, including collaboration with dedicated inpatient team members and facilitation of transitions of care, and the ambulatory setting, including follow-up visits and triage of time-sensitive patient concerns. 
  • Phone-only on call responsibilities are included on a limited basis.
  • Four ten-hour shifts with no weekends and nights
  • A well-balanced patient load with varied pathophysiology
  • Supportive and personable physician mentors who enjoy teaching; two experienced advanced practitioner peers with greater than 26 years combined experience in the practice
  • Exposure to robotics and advanced surgical procedures
  • Opportunities for participation in ambulatory and hospital-based committees including, but not limited to, quality and surgical outcomes

  • Eligibility to be licensed in Connecticut as a Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (APRN) is required.
  • Eligibility to be certified as a Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (APRN) is required.
  • Surgical Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (APRN) experience is highly preferred.
