Through our dedicated, experienced and skilled clinicians, we provide patients and their families with the highest quality of personalized care. Programs are offered for children, adolescents and adults struggling with mental illness as well as offering services specializing in Anxiety, Eating Disorders, and Geriatric Services.

Job Summary

Under the supervision of a registered nurse, and within the scope of nursing practice, the intern will assess, plan, intervene and evaluate care of the acutely ill psychiatric patient.  With the support of the registered nurse, the intern will participate in monitoring the milieu to ensure a therapeutic environment and maximize safety.  The focus of the internship is to strengthen and further develop communication skills; both with the patient and with other care professionals as a contributing member of the clinical team. Reports to the Registered Nurse Preceptor and Nurse Manager.

  • All activities will be conducted in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Matriculated in School of Nursing program with a 3.2 average
  • Must have completed 5th semester from an accredited school of nursing program
  • Must be proficient in understanding of medical verbiage and nursing concepts
