Hartford HealthCare Rehabilitation Network is the premier rehabilitation provider in Connecticut. We provide rehabilitation services across the continuum - acute care hospitals, long term care facilities, sub-acute rehabilitation, homecare, outpatient centers, and in community settings such as senior centers, work sites, and schools and colleges.  We offer over 40 outpatient locations offering physical, occupational, and speech therapy, in specialties including orthopedics, neuroscience, oncology, women’s health, sports medicine, vestibular, and more.  We are known for our commitment to high quality, customer focused outcomes.

 

Overview

Hartford Healthcare St. Vincent’s Medical Center Rehabilitation is currently seeking an Occuptaional Therapist to   join the outpatient team in our Stratford clinic.  This Occupational Therapist (OT) independently evaluates, formulates treatment strategies, delivers and/or delegates services that identify, restore and remediate - to maximize function in the areas of activities of daily living, leisure/recreation, and productivity/work. Addresses dysfunction in psychosocial skills, cognition, and sensorimotor components. Lymphedema and Neurological Rehab experience is highly vauled. This therapist will interact with rehabilitation professionals throughout the HHC system of care to ensure that best practices are followed in the provision of care.  Data will be analyzed and utilized to improve patient outcomes, and the clinician will partner with program managers to implement, enhance, and optimize clinical programs.

Position Specifics

Lymphedema specific responsibilities include:

  • Evaluate patient with lymphedema and create Plan of Care
  • Demonstrate competence in manual lymph drainage, multi-layer bandaging, compression garment selection and application
  • Provide patient and/or caregiver training for home program including MLD, bandaging as needed, application of compression garments, and skin care
  • Provide appropriate and safe exercise plan for patient with lymphedema, with modifications to functional ability

 

This position offers the potential for growth into a leadership position as the site and our network continue to grow!  It could also provide the opportunity to work in other HHCRN offices in the general area.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of Occupational Therapy Program from an accredited American Occupational Therapy Association school, BS degree or entry level master's degree.
  • Current CT Occupational Therapist License required.
  • Completion of a lymphedema certification program with a minimum of 135 hours of lymphedema specialized training with one instructor required.
  • LANA certification preferred.
