Shift Details: M - F 24hrs/week

St. Vincent's Special Needs Services is an approved private special education school that serves students from 3-21 who have significant multiple disabilities and complex medical needs. We are currently seeking a Family Center Associate to provide support and assistance to families of students and adults with special needs.

 

Job Summary:  provides support and assistance to families of our students, our day program participants and group home families, as well as families from the community.

Responsibilities:

  • The Family Health Center associate works as part of a team to engage and provide support to both program and community based families raising children who have disabilities and special health care needs.
  • Assists in providing families with information and referrals to community  resources and opportunities including local, state and federal resources.
  • Provides family and participants with advocacy and support.
  • Assists in planning and organizing educational workshops for both program  and community families who are raising children with special health care needs.
  • Helps to facilitate and implement Student Emergency Medical Passport  System for Children with Special Health Care Needs.
  • Helps maintain a safe and nurturing refuge for both families and staff within the Family Support Center.
  • Other Duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education:  Some College preferred.

Work Experience:

  •  Parent of child with special healthcare needs preferred.
  •  Computer literacy.
