The Hospital of Central Connecticut has an exciting leadership opportunity with their outpatient rehabilitation team!  The site offers rehabilitation services for orthopedic, vestibular, & neurological conditions with PT, OT and Speech Therapy directly on site and is the largest within the central region clinics.  Come join our team and have the opportunity to work collaboratively in regards to treatment and daily management of the site.

In addition to the role and responsibilities of the Physical Therapist (PT) or Occupational Therapist (OT), the Site Supervisor manages site resources: human, material, and financial, in order to ensure quality, cost-effective delivery of patient services for specific patient populations who require the needs of physical therapy.  This is accomplished either by direct action, delegation or coaching and support of self-directed work teams or individuals.  Responsibilities include but, are not limited to the following:

  • Participates in planning and ensuring effective staff selection, availability, and support to meet the needs of the department and patient population.
  • Utilizes approaches and strategies that support positive patient care outcomes in a managed care environment
  • Seeks and utilizes information (including research findings) and systems in order to optimize quality and control costs.
  • In collaboration with Area Manager, establishes, develops, and maintains effective relationships, working agreements and quality partnerships, to secure resources to support patient care and to assure compliance with current standards relevant to the patient population.
  • Assesses staff performance of expectations and coaches, mentors, develops and evaluates employees to achieve behaviors congruent with the organization's vision, mission and values, in a continuous learning environment.
  • Responsible for maintaining site compliance with hospital policies and procedures, and remains within standards set by accrediting bodies such as Joint Commission and DPH.
  • Demonstrates competencies, including knowledge and behaviors, to meet age specific patient needs (e.g. Pediatrics, Adolescents, Geriatrics.).
  • Work effectively as a team leader with the on site staff and with customers to provide quality service through communication, cooperation and collaboration.  Demonstrates characteristics that reflect a commitment to exceptional customer services and the achievement of overall company strategic goals.
  • Participates in community and marketing activities.  Promotes practice through development of effective physician relationships.
  • Works collaboratively with Department Area Manager to develop, implement and manage a budget which supports organizational objectives.



  • Minimum of three-five years clinical experience as Physical Therapist in outpatient setting.


  • Graduate of Physical Therapy/Occupational Therapy Program from an accredited American Physical Therapy/Occupational Therapy Association school, BS degree or entry level master's degree.

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • Current Physical Therapy/Occupational Therapy License required.
