Job Description

The Health and Wellness Educator empowers students to make healthy and responsible choices concerning use of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs and improving mental and emotional wellness. This position works to mobilize, create, improve, and sustain campus-wide health promotion practices and policies to create an environment that promotes student success and personal development and wellness.
The Health and Wellness Educator works collaboratively with the Counseling and Wellness Center and Health Center to develop treatment and recovery plans for students with alcohol and/or substance abuse issues. The incumbent in this position supports students’ continuity of care by connecting them to, the Counseling and Wellness, Health Center, and other community agencies and resources. In addition, the Alcohol and Other Drug Educator will implement education and prevention activities for the community.
The Health and Wellness Educator fosters an inclusive living and learning community that contributes to students’ personal health and wellness.


Master’s degree in counseling, psychology, clinical psychology, or a related field required
Current CT LAPC, LCSW, Psy.D, or PH.D required.
Minimum of 3 years of demonstrated progressive experience in substance and alcohol abuse treatment required.
Experience serving the needs of students from a range of socioeconomic, racial, sexual identity, and other perspectives and backgrounds; ability to determine reasonable accommodations to meet students’ diverse needs preferred.
