Natchaug Hospital is Eastern Connecticut’s leading provider for children, adolescents and adults with mental illness and substance abuse addictions. We offer a variety of programs including inpatient and outpatient behavioral health, residential treatment for court-involved teenage girls, geriatric services, clinical day treatment schools and chemical dependency services. Job Summary

Responsible for oversight of programmatic activities on assigned shift, including documentation requirements. Develops a monthly staff schedule and ensures adequate coverage as defined by the program structure. Monitors and implements program policies and procedures. Responsible for critical decision making in issues of health and safety. Administers medication to residents with oversight from a Registered Nurse. Provides input into staff performance assessments and hiring process. Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings.


  • Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor preferred
  • Five years of experience in social services supervisory experience, specifically with adolescents preferred
  • Minimum Associates Degree in a Human Services field required
  • Current Connecticut driver's license with ability to obtain PSL
  • Ability to obtain DCF Medication Administration Certification
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills required
  • Must have good organizational skills, computer proficiency, and keyboard skills
  • Must be available to cover shifts not normally assigned, e.g. provide coverage during absence of other shift supervisors
  • Must have/maintain contact telephone number for scheduling contact
