Shift Details: 16 hours per month minimum requirement. Preference towards candidates with holiday availability

Don’t miss the opportunity to be a part of our state of the art Inpatient Rehab Unit within Hartford Hospital. All 26 beds are in private inpatient rooms giving our patients access to ongoing acute medical management, 24 hour rehabilitative nursing care and the latest rehab techniques. Our dedication to delivering personalized coordinated care coupled with the healing environment offered by this unit will shorten length of stay and allow our patients a quicker and healthier return to home.  

 

Overview

We’re seeking a dedicated and caring Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) who would like the opportunity to be part of a team with a patient-centered approach, which brings decades of experience in providing the most innovative care. This position will treat patients with all diagnoses with a focus on stroke, traumatic brain or spinal cord injuries, as well as other neurological conditions. Our new unit will feature a collaborative interdisciplinary team atmosphere and approach to patient care. This is a great opportunity to work in a special inpatient rehab setting, while still having access to the opportunities and benefits available in a system with a full continuum of rehab care.

 

Position Description

The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) independently evaluates, determines treatment strategies and provides direct or indirect services that identify, restore and rehabilitate disorders of communication, cognition and swallowing to maximize a patient’s safety and independence. Reports to Department Manager/Director.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited college/university.
  • State of Connecticut License in Speech/Language Pathology.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence may be required depending on site.
  • Inpatient rehabilitation experience highly preferred.
