A council dedicated to it.

Our DEIB (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging) Council meets regularly to advance cultural awareness, promote a safe and welcoming workspace, increase diverse representation and retention in our workforce, and more. Employee recommendations are encouraged and welcomed.

Colleague Resource Groups offered.

These groups (CRGs) bring colleagues together who have a common interest to support one another and strengthen our inclusive workforce. Our CRGs include:

  • Black/African-American
  • Hispanic
  • Asian/Pacific Islander
  • LGBTQI+
  • And many more ways to become involved
 

Early Career Programs.

Designed to provide experience in the field of healthcare administration to students and those beginning their careers, Early Career Programs offer opportunities to work closely with functional leaders on departmental projects and system-level assignments based on organizational need and personal interests. Participants are embedded in areas such as human resources, health equity, quality, operations, operational excellence, innovation, informatics, employee well-being, strategic planning and business development, marketing and finance. Programs include:

  • Administrative Fellowship for post-graduate students (12 months)
  • Graduate Administrative Internships for graduate students (12 weeks)
  • Undergraduate Internships for undergraduate students (12 weeks)

Working toward health equity for all.

Just as Hartford HealthCare is committed to diversity and inclusion within our organization, we are also committed to finding ways to ensure that every person regardless of race, religion, ethnicity, place of origin, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or ability, has a fair and just opportunity to be as healthy as possible.

  • A Health Equity Department dedicated to reducing health disparities
  • Recruitment & Career Development programs for underrepresented communities
  • Bias Awareness & Education for all colleagues, starting with leaders
  • Partnerships with organizations like the NAACP — Million Jobs Campaign
  • A Board of Directors that reflects our diverse communities and the people we serve
  • Launched “Neighborhood Health”, an initiative to expand our mobile health services beyond testing and bring access to the preventative and diagnostic services to underserved communities.
