The creation of the HHC System Support Office recognizes the work of a large and growing group of employees whose responsibilities are continually evolving so that we and our departments now work on behalf of the system as a whole, rather than a single member organization.
With the creation of our new umbrella organization we now have our own identity with a unique payroll, benefits, performance management system, service recognition programs and other common practices across the system.


Responsible for supporting the purchasing staff in communicating with suppliers regarding purchasing supplies, equipment and service contracts in accordance with Hartford Care’s policies and procedures in order to obtain the most cost-effective and quality products. The role supports return of products, match exceptions and order confirmations while providing a full range of varied, multi-skilled clerical and administrative support.   Reports to Assistant Director of Purchasing


  • Placing orders with suppliers
  • Supporting returns by calling or email to request authorization to return
  • Review and enter confirmations into ordering system
  • Support match exceptions for pricing and missed receipts
  • Calling in expedite orders which are needed next day
  • Support recalls by notifying areas who have potentially used the recalled item(s)




  • High School Diploma required
  • 3+ years of experience procurement or purchasing required
  • PeopleSoft, Onbase, GHX experience required
  • Healthcare experience preferred

Language Skills:


  • Fluent in English required
  • Fluent in English, other languages a plus
