Job Summary:

Participates in the design, implementation, and evaluation of community-based injury prevention programs.  The role has elements of both community health education and community organizing and will be responsible for the implementation of violence prevention and unintentional injury prevention educational activities. Specifically, the role will serve as coordinator of the Healthcare Heroes program and provide support to the HH Department of Surgery and Trauma Program Leadership in the execution of the CT DOT funded Healthcare Heroes project.

Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate the Healthcare Heroes community outreach program in accordance with the requirements of the CT DOT grant
  • With support from the Injury Prevention Center (IPC) of Connecticut Children’s, develop and implement strategies to identify, recruit and engage healthcare partners in this DUI focused prevention campaign
  • In coordination with the Trauma Medical Director, DOS Administrative Director, and IPC Executive Director, develop, coordinate, and foster healthcare partnerships
  • With IPC/ HH Trauma program leadership, develop community education and program marketing materials as needed
  • In collaboration with HHC Marketing and Strategy, ensure high visibility
  • Serve as a topic matter expert on injury prevention topics as determined by IPC/ HH Trauma program Leadership
  • Perform other related duties as required
  • Proficiency in MS Office software Collaboration with diverse populations and stakeholders and a commitment to workplace diversity, anti-racism, and health equity

 

The is a 100% grant funded position.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant Science.
  • Master’s degree in Public Health, social Work, or related field preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of project management experience in community programs
