Position Summary:
Serving as a member of Hartford Hospital’s leadership team, the Vice President, Human Resources is responsible for establishing and developing a relationship with senior management to understand the key business issues and associated requirements to meet both current and future organizational challenges. Partnering with the System Vice President, HR, the Vice President, Human Resources will lead the activity to translate the business requirements into actionable human capital solutions and achieving defined objectives by planning, developing, delivering and monitoring solutions for their impact. Partnering with centralized HR and other organizations across the system, the Vice President, Human Resources will deliver value added service to management and employees that reflect the business objectives of the organization.
Key Accountabilities:
Business Partner Consulting & Human Resource Planning
Use quantitative and qualitative approaches to identify the organization’s primary human capital issues. Partner with leadership to develop and implement programs, tactics, and countermeasures to improve organizational performance. Establish standards and reporting methodology using industry benchmarks to foster improvements in performance. Establish annual goals and objectives in support of the organization's strategic plan and ensures goals are aligned with group and system level objectives.
Talent Management & Organizational effectiveness
Lead workforce planning and key talent management processes to ensure the organization is able to attract, manage, develop and retain needed talent. Augment the human capital playbook and improve robustness of processes where needed. Co-lead organizational design and change management activities with line leaders.
Employee relations, engagement & compliance
Guide and coach managers on employee relations and HR issues in line with company policies and best practices, including disciplinary, performance, and absence management. Ensure organization is in compliance with all state and federal regulations.
Leadership
Lead by example and act as a role model while creating and sustaining an environment that promotes accountability, teamwork, learning and continuous improvement. Lives H3W.
