Department Description:
Integrated Care Partners (ICP) is a physician-led, clinically integrated health care network whose mission is to assist our members in providing the highest quality care at the most reasonable cost for our patients in the current, rapidly changing medical environment.
Position Summary:
An excellent opportunity for an experienced Provider Relations Specialist professional with initiative and the desire to be a key contributor to develop the Provider Relations team, working with Practices across regions. Working closely with senior leadership, the Provider Relations Specialist is responsible for the implementation of strategies to enhance provider relations, respond to member service needs and build market share. The Provider Relations Specialist will work collaboratively with key service lines, departments and programs, as well as other affiliates to maximize physician utilization and satisfaction.
Position Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary liaison between Integrated Care Partners and its members; planning and conducting physician practice visits on a regular basis (Travel required)
Provide education on a host of subject matters, including ICP processes and procedures, payer systems and organizational initiatives
Develop strong business relationships by building loyalty and trust between Integrated Care Partners and its members (physicians, hospitals, ancillary, etc.) and their management
In coordination with the Administrative team, assist with recruitment strategies of provider members
Ensures that provider relationships with ICP are positive and productive for both parties
Responsible for direct outreach with Physician Practices; assisting with service needs and facilitating the resolution of any issues
Identify, research and resolve provider issues, including, but not limited to payment, authorization, eligibility and member matters
Collaborates with administrative and system staff as necessary to ensure the appropriate paperwork is processed, contracts are executed
Builds and strengthens relationships with practice managers and physician office staff
Develop training, educational, and communication materials for providers and office staff
Ability to research, understand, and explain healthcare services' volume, utilization, and market data and demographics pertaining to payer contracts
Helps to coordinate social and educational events to promote physician engagement
Responsible for other duties and special projects as assigned
Reports To: Director of Contracting & Payer Relations
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required
Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of healthcare experience in inpatient, outpatient, or private practice setting, or with an Insurance company, with strong business development skills. Experience as a Practice Manager or working with a physician practice site and/or hospital setting is a plus, but is not required
Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have experience working as a Provider Relations representative for an insurance company/ payer
Knowledge of various provider payment methodologies desired
Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as customer service skills. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with physicians and other health care professionals
Strong computer skills - proficiency with Microsoft computer applications including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to multi-task, work independently to achieve goals
Experience with a customer relation management tool/platform (i.e. Sales Force) is preferred
