Overview
We’re seeking an Athletic Trainer (ATC) to provide athletic training services in clinical and high school settings in accordance with NATA guidelines and practices. This position will primarily support coverage at Torrington High School.

Essential functions of this position include application of principles, methods, and procedures of evaluation and treatment of athletic injuries, preconditioning, conditioning, and reconditioning of the athlete through the use of appropriate preventive and supportive devices, temporary splinting and bracing, physical modalities of heat, cold, massage, water, electrical stimulation, sound, exercise and exercise equipment upon the referral or under the general direction of licensed physician. Athletic training includes instruction to coaches, athlete, parents, medical personnel, and communities in the area of care and prevention of athletic injuries.

 

 

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training (AT, ATC).
• Current NATA Certification.
• Current First Aid Certification.
• Current CPR Certification.
• Current state AT (ATC) license.
• 1 year experience preferred.
• High School experience preferred.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Attributes
Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills. Must be self-motivated and able to work independently, as well as function strongly within a team environment. Must be able to function successfully with physicians and other members of Allied Health Care team. Must be comfortable in a matrix organization with multiple reporting responsibilities. Must display strong customer service skills and aptitude. Must be able to represent both clinic and practice in a positive manner outside of the clinic and within the community.
