Provides quality, holistic and cost-effective advanced practice care for patients, families, and others in the women’s health department to achieve and/or maintain optimal health status, manage disease and reduce risk of illness.
Duties will include, patient management and consultative services on the women’s health surgical units which includes gynecology, urogynecology and gynecology-oncology care. Primarily duties will include, but will not be limited to, inpatient care, pre and post-operative care, inpatient discharge planning, in-patient and emergency department consultations, and coordination of services with other departments such as the emergency room.
This position entails working closely with the UCONN Obstetrics and Gynecology residents as part of the women’s health inpatient services.
This is a 40-hour position, primarily weekday shift coverage.
Schedule includes 4-10 hour shifts Monday through Friday, 6:30a-4:30p or 8:30a – 6:30p.
The position also requires some flexibility several times a year to help cover evening hours for resident events such educational retreats, in-service exams and graduation.

Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or APRN Program
Current Connecticut PA/APRN license
Board Certified or Eligible (If eligible-certification must be accomplished within 3 months of hire).
Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s preferred for PA position Master's required for APRN position.
Demonstrated ability of positive interaction with the medical/nursing staff and obstetrics and gynecology residents.
