Hartford HealthCare Medical Group is one of the largest medical practices in New England with multiple locations throughout Connecticut and Rhode Island. We consist of a team of professionals ranging from Medical Assistants to Physician Assistants and everything in between. Our physician led medical group enjoys an excellent reputation with patients and the medical community, offering primary care, urgent care and more than 30 different specialties
The successful candidate will exercise creativity and problem solving skills that contribute to the success of the Medical Group. Must be proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word as well as EPIC and other programs and applications.  The selected candidate will be detail oriented, a team player and be able to provide superior customer service to all customers internally and externally.

Job Description

Performs multi-dimensional administrative tasks that require creativity and independent, discretionary judgment to meet the needs of the organization. May act on behalf of superior on routine matters within established guidelines.
The candidate will also be responsible for supporting HHCMG Specialty Care Service Line Director in the coordination and maintenance of the Surgical Physician Assistant Program. 

Provide efficient, accurate and timely administrative support to contribute to the success of the program by performing a variety of duties such as those that follow. Compose correspondence and create reports using most advanced computer programs. Design and maintain spreadsheets and databases. Design standard records, forms, and logs. Participate in activities dealing with very sensitive and confidential issues and information involving Human resources or other departments.

Contribute to the smooth flow of information within the area, and to and from customers and other areas. Respond to complex inquires. Take action based on independent judgment, understanding the impact across the organization. Involves others both within and outside the area needed, or refers to a higher authority when appropriate. 

Complete assigned work in a timely manner. May perform or coordinate varied or complex processes. May facilitate, coordinate or oversee the work of others to achieve desired outcomes. Provides direction and training to others as necessary. Specific responsibilities are typically similar to those included under the Clerical and Administrative accountabilities. 

Demonstrates competencies and ability to work independently. Works effectively as a team member within the department and with customers to provide quality service through communication, cooperation and collaboration. 

Assumes responsibility for self-improvement by collaborating with supervisor to identify growth opportunities and resources. 


Minimum Qualifications
At least three years of high level administrative experience.
Proficiency in the use of the personal computer, EMR and Microsoft Office.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
High degree of confidentiality required.

Preferred Qualifications:
Associates degree preferred
Medical billing knowledge/experience preferred
Surgical Scheduling knowledge/experience preferred
Strong working knowledge of medical terminology preferred
Additional education beyond an associate’s degree preferred.
