The creation of the HHC System Support Office recognizes the work of a large and growing group of employees whose responsibilities are continually evolving so that we and our departments now work on behalf of the system as a whole, rather than a single member organization.
With the creation of our new umbrella organization we now have our own identity with a unique payroll, benefits, performance management system, service recognition programs and other common practices across the system.

Position Summary:

  1. Assess and interpret customer needs and requirements
  2. Incorporate software and system architecture into conceptual designs
  3. Provide oversight of conceptual designs to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture governance (e.g., principles, policies, standards, future-state reference architectures)
  4. You will be responsible for maintaining awareness of current business and industry issues/trends and incorporate into enterprise architecture designs as appropriate
  5. Providing senior level expertise on decisions and priorities regarding the enterprises overall desktop architecture.
  6. Reviews, advises and designs standard software and hardware builds, system options, risks, costs versus benefits and impact on the enterprise business process and goals.
  7. Develops and documents the framework for integration and implementation for changes to technical standards.
  8. Provides technical guidance to project team areas as appropriate.
  9. Identify/quantify scope and impact of business changes on systems
  10. Work closely with IT Security team to identify and implement security standards as applicable
  11. Maintain hardware endpoint standards (laptops/desktop) for an enterprise
  12. Strong background in Windows 10 Operating System, Developing Windows Images and Windows in-place upgrades
  13. Experience integrating new hardware and drivers into a Windows Image
  14. Windows scripting and coding: vbscript, PowerShell, Visual Basic
  15. Enterprise is systems management tools i.e. SCCM, Workspace1 


Position Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  1. The escalation point for issues being escalated from Level 1 & 2 support staff
  2. Responsible for reproducing / confirming system defects and reporting such defects to the appropriate teams
  3. Provide “on-site” support to HHC customers as needed.
  4. Act as a back–up for other Client Engineers.
  5. Provide after-hours coverage as part of an on-call rotation schedule for SLA support as needed.
  6. Work continuously to increase Level II Engineer knowledge by reviewing escalated cases on a weekly basis.
  7. Create technical bulletins to serve as a job aid and expand the knowledge base for handling support issues.
  8. Ensure that all actions pertaining to issues escalated from Level I or II Support are documented in the ticketing system. 
  9. Ensure that all Engineers are informed and current of all enhancements/ latest releases and sharing that information with the organization. 
  10. Promotion of shared infrastructure and applications to reduce costs and improve information flows. Ensure that projects do not duplicate functionality or diverge from each other and business and IT strategies.
  11. Build employee knowledge and skills in specific areas of expertise
  12. The Client Engineer will be an active member of the IT Change Advisory Board, the IT Configuration Control Board, and the IT Incident Review Board.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years’ experience
  • Knowledge of LAN, WAN and other enterprise technologies
  • Excellent written communication and verbal skills, as well as strong listening skills.
  • Possesses strong customer relation skills.
  • Must speak fluent English
  • Familiarity with project management
  • Participate in weekly 24/7 on-call and monthly downtime rotation to support new and existing applications across multiple HHC facilities.
  • Ability to use personal computer and related software; including knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to travel as required.
  • Working knowledge of general information technology policies and procedures.
  • Healthcare experience preferred
  • Ability to maintain records and filing systems 
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Windows 10 as well as, Active Directory and Group Policy
  • 2 factor authentication solutions such as RSA or Imprivata
  • Enterprise Antivirus solutions such as McAfee and Symantec
  • Windows OS Patching
  • Root Cause analysis and resolution
  • Wireshark network packet captures and analysis
  • Microsoft Exchange and Lync
  • SSL and Certificates
  • Powershell scripting
  • VDI experience VMWare/Hyper-V
  • Active Directory/Group Policy
  • Experience with Ivanti Environment Manager, Application manager, File Director
  • Web browsers and browser applications

Organizational Competencies:

  • Attends all mandatory education and training programs (including department specific) and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety and regulatory compliance as well as department safety and specific job-related hazards.
  • Maintains all required CEUs for certifications and licensure. 
  • Follows the hospital exposure control plans/bloodborne and airborne pathogens.
  • Attire is professional, neat, clean, and appropriate for the work environment, according to the HHC and/or Department Appearance Policy and a high standard of personal cleanliness is maintained. 
  • Reports to work on time and meets acceptable standard for attendance, based upon the department attendance policy.
