The creation of the HHC System Support Office recognizes the work of a large and growing group of employees whose responsibilities are continually evolving so that we and our departments now work on behalf of the system as a whole, rather than a single member organization.

With the creation of our new umbrella organization we now have our own identity with a unique payroll, benefits, performance management system, service recognition programs and other common practices across the system.

Position Summary:

Prepares, monitors, and maintains annual operating and capital budgets of Hartford Health Care Corporation and its various affiliates.  Reports to:  Departmental Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Prepares  operating and capital budgets, including supporting documentation, for revenues, capital expenditures, operating expenses, financial statistical data, among others,  by reviewing prior year activity, analyzing variances, and preparing projections to use as a basis for the new budget.
  • Prepares periodic analysis of results through loading and balancing all budget detail for the fiscal year, entering periodic adjustments, identifying and analyzing actuals to budget variances, and producing reports of actuals to budget and forecasted financial data.
  • Monitor various accounts on a periodic basis such as capital projects and acquisitions, general ledger accounts, cash flow, debt obligations, among others, to ensure that reports are accurate and completed as required, to update forecasts of cash flow and costs, and to ensure that contractual obligations are met.
  • Initiates oral and written communication with departments who support and contribute data to financial reporting systems.  When appropriate, takes corrective action in resolving variances, problems and issues identified.
  • Acts as a resource to other units within Hartford Health Care Corporation by providing financial data and other support as a member of a team or in response to requests for information.  Complete special reports as requested, provide financial expertise for reports/surveys as needed by others, and assist managers in understanding/interpreting monthly financial reports.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in finance, business, accounting or related field.
  • Minimum three years’ experience in budgeting, financial analysis. or accounting preferred, with a thorough understanding of financial analysis and planning, and its role in directing operations and planning future ventures.
  • PC based applications including spreadsheets, database development and management, and word processing.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and self-directed individual.  Must be able to react and respond to dynamic environment with limited direction.
