Job Summary

The Practice Manager coordinates, manages personnel, and resources in order to provide the highest quality patient care with professional and competent staff in the most cost-effective manner.   Responsibilities include but are not limited to collaboration with physicians and other health care disciplines to assure optimal patient care.  Monitors the activities and operations of all the practices’ components to ensure that the practices meet clinical, financial, human resources, operational and patient satisfaction objectives

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements policies, procedures, standards and best practices to ensure efficient, effective, day to day operations.  Develops systems to improve and standardized practice and clinic operations.
  • Supervision of all employees 
  • Maintains current knowledge of coding and billing issues specific to Occupational Health.
  • Acts as a chief resource to administrative and clinical staff to solve issues concerning office operations, customer service, managed care requirements, patient registrations, patient scheduling, and billing and coding services.
  • Works closely with clinical staff to ensure optimal coordination of clinical and administrative functions within the practice. 
  • Creates and maintains all department budgets in collaboration with the Director. 
  • Works proactively with the Director of Patient Accounts to ensure proper coordination of billing activities designed to achieve maximum revenue capture, including A/R collection. Serves as a liaison to Central Billing Office, Patient Accounts and others to optimize revenue cycle.
  • Obtains all necessary insurance authorizations for Occupational Health Network pertaining to office visits, pre-employment testing, worker’s compensation cases, and other services rendering authorization.
  • Serves as a liaison with administration, physicians, and hospital departments and outside organizations to coordinate services, accomplish business objectives and to facilitate resolution of problems.
  • Ensures that the OHN complies with regulatory guidelines and that appropriate equipment, staff credentialing, technology, infrastructure, supplies and other resources needed to provide safe, quality care exists.
  • Performs other related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience required. Previous practice/office management experience preferred

Candidate should demonstrate a high level of responsibility and interest in the success of the Hospital’s Occupational Health Network.

Excellent communication skills, both oral and written required.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office required.
