The creation of the HHC System Support Office recognizes the work of a large and growing group of employees whose responsibilities are continually evolving so that we and our departments now work on behalf of the system as a whole, rather than a single member organization.
With the creation of our new umbrella organization we now have our own identity with a unique payroll, benefits, performance management system, service recognition programs and other common practices across the system.

JOB SUMMARY:

Candidate must be able to function as a leader.  Performs a broad scope of grant accounting activities requiring experienced, professional knowledge and application of accounting principles and practices. Proficient in consistently delivering timely, analyzed and accurate financial grant information to all levels of the organization, to state and federal reporting agencies, and to auditors.   

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  1. Responsible for the submission of timely, accurate and fully reconciled grant reports to state and federal agencies for Rushford Center Inc. and Natchaug Hospital.  Ability to perform at significant high peaks in work load due to simultaneous grant reporting dates.
  2. Responsible for the submission of timely and accurate budget files, budget revisions, and contract amendments to state and federal agencies for Rushford Center Inc. and Natchaug Hospital.  
  3. Responsible for completion and submission of fully reconciled Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards and State Single Audit Schedules related to the annual audit for Rushford Center Inc. and Natchaug Hospital as require by state and federal agencies.  This includes all necessary documents, reports, backup, emails, and other necessary information as requested by the audit team. 
  4. Perform assigned monthly journal entries, which may be grant or non-grant related, accurately, timely, and with appropriate backup.
  5. Perform assigned monthly balance sheet reconciliations, which may be grant or non-grant related, accurately, timely and ensure that subsequent journal entries are completed, if needed.
  6. Monitor and review policy adherence for all financial activity within the grant portfolio by incorporating the policies of the HHC system into the financial planning and review of grant expenditure activities.
  7. Review state and federal award documents and handle all activity for processing of grants and ensure compliance within the requirements of the initial grant award. Responsible for the development, preparation and maintenance of documentation to support grant and contract expenditures posted to the General Ledger
  8. Collaborate with other internal departments, central office, and external state and federal agencies to ensure the proper management of funds.
  9. Ability to cultivate and maintain strong working partnerships and effective communications with all departments, Managers, Directors, Vice Presidents, State and Federal Fiscal Monitors, auditors and other key stakeholders.
  10. Perform other duties, which may be grant or non-grant related, as assigned by the Controller.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

-Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field.

Experience

-Minimum of three to five years’ experience in a grant accounting related field
