Summary:

Under the direction of the Regional Director of Medical Staff Services, the Team Lead assists in training and daily supervision of the medical staff coordinators.  As assigned by the Director, will be responsible for conducting audits, monitoring metrics and participating in creating policies, procedures and standard work for the assigned Hartford Region Medical Staff Services Office.  The Team Lead collaborates with the medical staff coordinators to address day-to-day operational issues and participates in the day-to-day work

Description:

  • Manage schedule, preparation, and completion of FPPE, OPPE, appointments and reappointments. Oversees process for requesting temporary clinical privileges.
  • Assist in coaching and development of Medical Staff Coordinators and monitoring of day to day operations
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining standardized credentialing applications, forms, letters, reports, etc.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all Medical Staff members & Specified Professionals have delineated clinical privileges and that hospital departments are educated on how to access to these privilege delineations via the Intranet. Updates privilege delineation forms in collaboration with the Medical Staff members.
  • Supports and assist the Regional Director with the coordination of Medical Staff bylaws revisions, deletions, and additions as necessary; along with necessary communications to required departments, offices, and/or staff.
  • Participate in regulatory agency reviews/audits as required.
  • Prepares reports as requested by Senior Leadership, marketing, etc.
     

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Associate’s Degree in Business, Healthcare Management,  Health Information Technology,  or related field. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in similar position preferred or experience in healthcare administrative function.
  • Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) by the National Association of Medical Staff Services or obtain certification within one year of meeting the National Association Medical Services (NAMSS) eligibility requirements.
