St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport has more than 3,200 employees. It includes a 473-bed community teaching hospital, a 76-bed inpatient psychiatric facility in Westport, a large multispecialty provider group, and special needs services for adults and children. St. Vincent’s is the first hospital in Fairfield County to be integrated into the Hartford HealthCare network, and is the system’s second-largest hospital.


The Mgr Practice Ops & Programs serves as operations and program development lead for a Comprehensive Practice/Center within St. Vincent's Medical Center. The position provides day to day operational, technical, and problem solving leadership on administrative matters. In addition, the position facilitates access to care and/or services, overseeing all aspects of surgical practice operations, including management of regulatory requirements, business planning and fiscal oversight


  • Plans for and uses resources to achieve the goals and objectives of the work group within established budgets. Recommends budget expenditures, monitors progress and shifts resources to meet changing needs. Works with staff to streamline operations.
  • Develops and maintains office and departmental budgets and Key Performance Indicators.
  • Leads program(s) management and support efforts. Develops relationships within community health centers that refer patients to SVMC to facilitate referral and financial aid processes. Participates in the development of patient education and marketing materials. Coordinates community lectures featuring SVMC clinicians.
  • Manages staff. Implements individual performance expectations and completes all aspects of employee performance appraisals and reviews. Interviews candidates and makes hiring decisions and handles employee performance and disciplinary issues as well as participating in counseling sessions/ disciplinary actions. Coaches employees to be successful in contributing to the achievement of individual and work group objectives. 
  • Promotes teamwork within the practice through timely and collaborative communication.
  • Maintains and adjusts staff schedules to compliment practice providers and all services offered center. Manages and coordinates vacation and personal time off to insure minimum disruption of practice operations.
  • Works in collaboration with practice and/or hospital leadership to oversee staff and maintain accountability for compliance with all quality and regulatory standards including local, state and federal laws governing practice services, medical equipment, any specialty specific requirements, The Joint Commission, State Department of Health, CT licensing requirements, and any other relevant agency/requirements.
  • Partners with administrative leaders and HHC outreach staff to ensure program services are provided to both medically underserved populations and corporate clients. Works with leaders and clinicians to extend system wide initiatives to the SVMC community which includes the adoption of HHC standards of Care and essential program components.
  • Creates and maintains effective positive customer service relationships, participates in service recovery. Educates staff on the importance of quality customer service and holds them accountable. Monitors patient experience data and develops recommendations for improvement.
  • Participates conferences, strategic planning, grant programs and fundraising initiatives as well as marketing and quality improvement projects and other ad hoc activities as appropriate.



  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in healthcare management.
  • 2+ years of advanced practice management and business analytics skills.
  • Administrative and program management in an oncology setting highly preferred.
  • Bilingual in Spanish/Portuguese preferred.
