The creation of the HHC System Support Office recognizes the work of a large and growing group of employees whose responsibilities are continually evolving so that we and our departments now work on behalf of the system as a whole, rather than a single member organization.


With the creation of our new umbrella organization we now have our own identity with a unique payroll, benefits, performance management system, service recognition programs and other common practices across the system.


Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Senior Director of CIC, the Specialist will partner with leaders across the system to identify effective and efficient development opportunities for high potential leaders. Responsible for building and instituting a leadership and reciprocal mentoring program while ensuring HHC continues to build a culture of diversity and inclusion. Integrates the mentorship program into leadership cohorts and building this into the Coach in Residence Program as an additional resource for our leaders.


Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Top Talent and High Potential Development
    • Improve the effectiveness of senior leaders by designing and improving the system-wide interventions needed to develop strategic leaders.
    • Establish opportunities to intersect physician and administrative development and effectiveness to prepare leaders to work in Administrative/Medical dyads.
    • Responsible for influencing, networking, building and developing strategic relationships to drive leadership effectiveness and capabilities within HHC leaders.
    • Partners with all HR team members and serves as thought partner, influencer, and change champion while demonstrating both "what" and "how" as it relates to execution.
    • Serves as role model for excellence in Leadership Development Consulting.
    • Coach in Residence
    • Coach HHC leaders through the Coach in Residence function.
    • Provide consultative services regarding coaching and mentoring.
    • Foster the development of coaching skills in leaders throughout HHC
  • Mentorship
    • Implement and manage a reciprocal mentoring system across HHC that reflects the leadership needs and cultural norms of HHC.
    • Identify the tools, processes, skills, knowledge, and temperament of mentors/protégés to ensure successful and effective mentoring relationships.
    • Measure the effectiveness and success of the mentoring function.
    • Acts as relationship manager with group/individuals. 
    • While the CIC Specialist does not have direct supervisory responsibility, this person will have to coach/mentor and influence many others of all levels in the organization to succeed.
  • HHC Culture Stewardship
    • Identify and/or develop tools and approaches to measure and monitor HHC’s culture
    • Ensure systems are in place to encourage system citizenship among senior leaders
    • Identify opportunities and techniques to build cultural awareness and develop strong cultural stewardship among leaders. 

Qualifications

Education Masters required.
  • 4-6 years OD/HR experience required
  • Academic or Consultant Healthcare experience (large or medium firm/institution) preferred
  • Experience with large-scale system wide organization and leader development. Experience working with senior leadership and high potential leaders preferred
  • Certified Professional Coach from an Accredited ICF Coaching Program required
