The System Director will provide strategic leadership in regards to system-wide compliance and internal audit plans, investigations, risk assessments and policies and procedures serving as a true content expert in health care regulations. The System Director will be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in internal audit theory and practice with the ability to evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls and make recommendations, as needed, for control enhancements and improvements. Additionally, the System Director will serve as the key compliance liaison to Hartford Hospital.
Master’s Degree or Juris Doctorate required
Five plus years of experience in healthcare compliance, preferably in a large Healthcare system setting or in a consulting capacity
Five plus years of progressive leadership experience
CHC, CCEP or CIA certification is required
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage, motivate and develop staff
Ability to research and interpret regulatory requirements and coordinate and monitor internal responses to complaints, audits and investigations.
Exceptional investigational skills including logical incident response coordination, clear and thorough written reports, effective interviewing and problem solving skills
Strong knowledge of Enterprise Risk Management frameworks and principles
Demonstrated organization, facilitation, communication and presentation skills
Prioritize, plan and work independently
Effectively work with and coordinate the activities of outside consultants and legal counsel
Lead by influence through a matrix organization as opposed to line management authority. Build relationships with all levels of staff
