Shift Details: CT Certified Art Teacher, School Year Schedule, Part Time, 6 hours per week

Job Description

  • Provides educational instruction to students so they can maintain their academic standing at their home school.
  • Acts as liaison between student’s home school and the program’s educational component.
  • Teaches students through planning and individualizing instruction to meet each student’s needs.
  • Manages student behavior according to the policies and procedures of the School. Communicates expectations for student achievement. Provides a safe and structured environment at all times, instituting therapeutic holds when safety is threatened.
  • Consults with Principal regarding the Program’s mission and operations to ensure they are in support of the Organization’s overall mission. Develops positive culture in classroom.
  • Communicates with Residential team frequently to monitor student well-being and academic progress.
  • Performs other duties, as required.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred.
  • Certification in Art Education (042) or Music (049) is REQUIRED.
  • Previous experience working with socially and emotionally disturbed students.
  • Proven teamwork skills and ability to follow specified curriculum.
  • Must possess and maintain CPR and first aid certification and Rushford restraint qualifications.
