JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for all charge capture elements associated with the Hartford region main OR and GI areas. Partners with supply associates to assure comprehensive inventory management.  Partners with supply associates to maintain inventory levels and order supplies. Significant interaction with clinicians, surgeons, and outside vendors. Maintain proper storage, stock rotation and calculate par levels for both owned and consigned inventory.  Is responsible for monitoring on hand values and transaction history of high dollar inventory items. Coordinates vendor inventory checks on consignment. Coordinates scheduling with outside vendors for surgical cases. Partners with surgeons to present new product requests.  Creates purchase orders by requisitioning, processes returns and addresses applicable recalls and action notices.  Works effectively as a team member within the department and with customers, both internal and external, to provide quality service through effective communication, cooperation, and collaboration. 

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education

  • High school graduate or equivalent

Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements 

  • Computer skills which include in excel and Word
  •   Strong customer service skills required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively via phone, email and in a group.

Preferred Requirements

Experience

  • One year of experience with purchasing and inventory control
  • Experience with PeopleSoft and EPIC
  • Experience with Hospital supplies and equipment
