Shift Details: 24 hour off shift Staffing Coordinator. Hours include 2 or 3 evenings 5p - 1030p, every other weekend 830a - 5p

St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport has more than 3,200 employees. It includes a 473-bed community teaching hospital, a 76-bed inpatient psychiatric facility in Westport, a large multispecialty provider group, and special needs services for adults and children. St. Vincent’s is the first hospital in Fairfield County to be integrated into the Hartford HealthCare network and is the system’s second-largest hospital.

Summary

Reviews daily clinical staffing, work to provide adequate staffing and to resolve, or prevent, shortages.  Administrative functions include exhibit professionalism in answering phone calls with the ability to triage calls to correct person, basic data entry and filing.  Assist colleagues that need tutorials on the timekeeping system.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

 

·        Professional triage of incoming phone calls for colleague callouts, shift changes, and general questions.

·        Serve as a resource to colleagues for questions related to clinical schedules.

·        Maintain call out logs for all clinical colleagues.

·        Maintain cancellation log for float colleagues.

·        Routine review of float colleague labor transfers to ensure accuracy.

·        Work collaboratively with clinical unit leadership to facilitate staffing changes to minimize negative financial impact.

·        Assist with maintaining scheduling system and/or manual records of staffing assignments and changes.

·        Assist with preparation and distribution of shift staffing assignments.

·        Work toward safe staffing following guidelines, matrices, and CLC.

·        Assist and support colleagues with basic UKG Dimension functions.

·        Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications

 

Education:

 

·        Associate’s degree or equivalent experience


Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements:

 

·        Microsoft Office, UKG Dimensions preferred.
