Hartford Hospital, an affiliate of Hartford HealthCare, is the second largest surgical hospital in New England with 40 ORs, 5 robots, and over 30,000 operations per year including 1,600 in Neurosurgery.
Physician Assistant Role Scope
Advanced Practitioner responsibilities include developing this neurosurgery specialty office to provide excellence in patient care in conjunction with the Surgeon’s operating room-based services. This is an opportunity to work autonomously, but collaboratively with Neurosurgical Surgeons while still enjoying the hours and patient contact of an office practice.
Responsibilities Include
· Provide care to neurosurgery patients within the ambulatory settings with locations in Norwich/Mystic
· Routine in-basket management through EPIC of ambulatory issues
· OR First Assist
· OR coverage or floor work for Neurosurgical patients
· Participation in case conferences and educational series.
· Participation in Neurosurgical spine conference
· Quality Improvement Projects

Qualifications
Advanced Practitioner Requirements
· Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Master’s program required
· Licensed, or eligible to be licensed, as a Physician Assistant in the state of Connecticut
· Certification or eligible to be certified as a Physician Assistant.
