Position Summary:

Hartford HealthCare has partnered with Google for transformation data and digital capabilities enabling more personalized, coordinated care for Customer’s patients, colleagues, and partners.  As a member of the Finance team, this role is responsible for the oversight of one (1) Financial Analyst and the analysis of Cloud spend and other growth for IT support. Incumbent will track and compare spend to historic baseline costs to identify savings from migrating from on premise data centers to cloud based service. This role will work closely with IT partners to track application and data usage to develop and maintain projected spend for near term and long-term planning and budgeting for IT as a whole. 

Position Responsibilities:

Key Areas of Responsibility

·        Working with the vendor consultants (Ahead), to be fully educated around what Ahead built using historic cost to project out the Business as Usual model to transition the work within HHC Finance. 

·        In partnership with IT operations, develop, implement and track unit key indicators that drive costs. Provide financial insights based on deep analysis, highlighting trends to explain the causes of variances, and identify opportunities for efficiencies without compromising service quality or business growth.

·        Work closely with Info Tech staff to map the activity within the Cloud and other services to the accounting reporting to be able to monitor against budgets and projections, to identify variances and alert management of unfavorable results to allow for corrective actions where necessary.

·        Forecasting of IT spend for budgets to provide clarity on drivers of spend from Google Cloud and other applications to make timely corrections.

·        Tracking the utilization of data and applications purchased against the Google contract to stay on track without additional cost to HHC or sunk costs for underutilization of contracted service.

·        Model the cost of new applications or expanded services.

·        Ensure key stakeholders are informed about financial operational metrics, ricks and opportunities

·        Provide subject matter expertise to assist IT and Finance leaders on key strategic decisions.

Qualifications

Requirements and Specifications:

Education

·        Minimum: Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, mathematics, engineering/ computer science, or other relevant field that demonstrates quantitative competence.

·        Preferred: A master’s degree in a field such as finance or business administration.

Experience

·        Minimum:

o   3 Years in Healthcare Finance

o   Experience using Cloud provider cost tools (GCP, AWS, Azure)

Licensure, Certification, Registration

·        Preferred: Finops Certified Professional or equivalent

Language Skills

·        English

Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements 

·        Extensive knowledge and experience in Information Technology Operations for product life cycles, network computing, and capital expenditures.

·        Experience in Cloud computing activity and Fin Ops

·        Advanced proficiency in complex Microsoft excel spreadsheets and/or leveraging tools like big query for analysis

·        Clear communicator with keen ability to present findings in succinct presentations

·        Ability to construct and maintain complex forecasting model

·        Willingness to operate in a collaborative, matrix reporting environment and cross functional team

·        Assumes responsibility for self-improvement, in collaboration with supervisor, by identifying, communicating and seeking resources or instruction/validation to meet own learning needs, and is self-directed in maintaining currency of validations.
