Job Description
Our admission pager role is responsible for ensuring tracking of all patients transitioning through the department of medicine. They work alongside physicians and advanced practitioners to help document our daily census. They will receive messages from different areas of the hospital such as the ED, ICU, SD and other services and add them to our daily sign out to confirm all patients are accounted for. An advanced practitioner will be assigned as your backup daily to assist in direct admissions from outside hospitals and help you with any process questions that may arise.
Job Responsibilities
• Receive Tiger Texts (TT) from different teams and providers and distribute those TT to the correct person on our team for review based on provided algorithm
• Track new patients coming onto our service on our daily sign out and in EPIC until a bed is assigned
• Assign an attending to new patients based on provided staffing list and algorithm
• Update the daily pager sheet with oncoming staff based on our weekly transition
Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Relevant experience in a fast-paced medical office highly preferred.
• Epic experience preferred.
• Positive, customer-focused approach, with commitment to providing excellent patient care.
• Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment juggling multiple competing tasks and demands.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Excellent verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate in other languages highly desirable.
• Strong computer skills. Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
• Basic working knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to travel independently to satellite offices with or without advanced notice.
• Strong working knowledge of insurance requirements.
