The Mary W. Parker Autism Center at the Institute of Living (IOL) is looking for a full-time licensed clinical psychologist who has had clinical experience in working with children, adolescents, and adults with a known or suspected ASD diagnosis. The psychologist will:
Job Summary
Independently conduct diagnostic evaluations using a range of evidence-based autism assessment tools, as well as cognitive, adaptive, and behavioral functioning assessment tools, such as: Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Second Edition (ADOS-2), Autism Diagnostic Interview, Revised (ADI-R), Social Responsiveness Scale, Second Edition (SRS-2), Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children, Fifth Edition (WISC-V), Vineland Adaptive Behavior Scales, Third Edition (VABS-3), and others.
Participate in interdisciplinary diagnostic evaluations to provide appropriate assessment of, and develop evidence-based behavioral interventions for, autistic children, adolescents, and adults
Provide individual and/or group-based therapy for individuals with ASD that is consistent with principles of evidence-based practice
Provide ongoing monitoring of behavioral interventions for autistic individuals and their families.
Provide functional behavioral assessments
Consult and advise on autism-related questions within inpatient, partial hospital/intensive outpatient, and outpatient programs within a broad behavioral health network
Contribute to training and supervision of trainees from different disciplines

The Mary W. Parker Autism Center at the Institute of Living (IOL) is a developing interdisciplinary outpatient program for the clinical assessment and treatment of individuals across the age continuum with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The IOL is part of Hartford HealthCare’s Behavioral Health Network and is one of America's leading not-for-profit centers for comprehensive patient care, research and education in the fields of behavioral, psychiatric and addiction disorders. The center is located in Hartford, Connecticut, about half way between Boston and New York City.
Qualifications
Qualifications
Doctorate of Philosophy in Psychology (PhD.) or Doctorate in Psychology (Psy.D.) from an APA accredited institution.
One year APA approved internship in Clinical Psychology.
Completion of one year post internship supervisory experience.
Licensed to practice Psychology in the State of Connecticut.
Psychologist in school setting is also required to have a license by the Connecticut State Department of Education as a School Psychologist.
Eligible for membership in the National Register of Health Care Providers.
Eligible for American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP) certification.
Eligible for certification in Group Therapy (CGT-certified group therapist credentialing through the American Group Psychotherapy Association); Family Therapy; and eligible for credentialing to do Individual Psychotherapy.
Eligible for credentialing in Alcohol and Substance Abuse through the American Psychological Association or equivalent credentialing body.
