The Hospital of Central Connecticut is an acute-care community teaching hospital, we provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services in general medicine and surgery, as well as a wide variety of specialties. We are currently seeking an Athletic Trainer (ATC) to provide human performance evaluations (HPE) for new hires at Occupational Health comparing the the physical abilities of a potential hire to the physical requirements of a job, determining whether the applicant can safely perform the essential job duties to reduce OTJ injuries. The ATC will also assist clinical staff with pre-employment exams, pre-employment physicals, various injuries and other worker's compensation clinical needs.
Job duties :
Provides human performance evaluations (HPE) for internal and external companies at Occupational Health in Plainville comparing the physical abilities of a potential hire to the physical requirements of a job, determining whether the applicant can safely perform the essential job duties to reduce OTJ injuries. The Athletic Trainer will perform a customized HPEs matching the specific responsibilities of the job and only screens for skills that are needed on a regular basis. Assists clinical staff (Medical Assistants, Nurses and Clinicians) with pre-employment exams, pre-employment physicals, various injuries and other worker's compensation clinical needs including but not limited to phlebotomy, vitals, Pulmonary Function Tests, vision and hearing tests, etc.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree, graduate from an accredited professional athletic training education program
NATA certified
Current First aid training
Current CPR training
High level analytical/problem solving skills
Outstanding communication, presentation, facilitation and strong computer skills are required
Healthcare background and BOC certification as an Athletic Trainer preferred
