St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport has more than 3,200 employees. It includes a 473-bed community teaching hospital, a 76-bed inpatient psychiatric facility in Westport, a large multispecialty provider group, and special needs services for adults and children. St. Vincent’s is the first hospital in Fairfield County to be integrated into the Hartford HealthCare network, and is the system’s second-largest hospital.
Position Description
Weekday/weekend availability, day shift. 1 holiday per year.
The Rehabilitation Aide provides safe and appropriate basic patient care under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist or Speech Language Pathologist. As a member of the rehabilitation team supports a safe and positive patient experience by assisting in the delivery of care and performing delegated multi-skilled basic patient care services.
Provide support and assistance to licensed Rehabilitation Therapists in areas such as (but not limited to): mobility, ADLs (Activities of Daily Living), movement and ambulation, and positioning. In addition, may provide support to licensed Rehabilitation Therapists in areas such as therapeutic exercise programs, group exercise programs, mobility volunteer aide program, and swallowing studies.
This position is a great fit for Allied Health students (PT/OT/SLP) who are looking to gain experience in a rehab setting!
Qualifications
· High school graduate or equivalent required.
· Customer service experience and computer literacy required.
· Patient care experience highly preferred.
· Minimum of 1-year work experience and knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
· CPR validation may be required within 3 months of hire depending upon work area specific requirement.
· Allied Health Students (PT/OT/SLP) encouraged to apply!
