Charlotte Hungerford Hospital is a 122-bed, general acute care community hospital located in Torrington, Connecticut, that serves as a regional health care resource for the 100,000 residents of Litchfield County and Northwest Connecticut.  CHH offers personalized attention from an expert team of caregivers and physicians that utilize advanced technology and clinical partnerships in a convenient, safe and comfortable patient environment.

This position works in partnership with nursing leadership and consults and collaborates with the healthcare team to facilitate training education and development by assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating and evaluating projects and programs for staff, faculty, patient populations and the community. 

  • Provides educational activities that support the orientation, training, and competency programs. 
  • Collaborates with members of the nursing leadership team to assess learning needs, develops programs, monitors clinical competency and supports action plans.
  • Provides unit-based support for clinical staff in the provision of patient care. Serves as a role model and guide for the professional development of nurses.
  •  Assesses, monitors, and evaluates the quality of nursing documentation, making educational recommendations and facilitating the implementation of suggested changes.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Registered Nurse.
  • BSN required. Master’s degree or program enrollment with degree completion within two years of hire required.
  • Minimum of five years of active clinical nursing experience. One year of relevant teaching/nursing staff development preferred.
  • BLS required. ACLS preferred or obtained within one year of hire. 
  • Candidates must show demonstrated leadership skills and a commitment to education as a methodology for promoting continuous quality improvement in the delivery of patient care and services.
  • You must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and the ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
