Shift Details: Evening and night hours available with rotating weekends and rotating holidays required. Full time and part time openings available.

Hartford Hospital is actively hiring Patient Care Associates (PCA) for our Specialty Medical Nursing Units

  • No floating outside of the Medicine Division

Hartford Hospital’s Specialty Medicine Units offer its Patient Care Associates a collaborative work environment as they care for a wide variety of patients with acute care conditions. Specialty Medicine Patient Care Associates work as a team to deliver holistic care to patients and their families.  Working in this supportive environment allows a Patient Care Associate to join a multidisciplinary team, widen their skill set, and develop competencies required to care for a diverse patient population.  The specialty medicine division offers opportunities for career development, growth, and life-long learning.

Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Patient Care Associate performs delegated functions as a member of a patient care team to provide a variety of services such as activities of daily living, vital signs, EKGs, and glucose checks. These activities contribute to meeting the health care, safety and comfort needs of patients, and are performed in accordance with all existing regulatory and hospital standards, policies and procedures. Reports to Unit Manager.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

CPR validation within 3 months of hire

Demonstrated ability to read, write, and speak English, and perform basic Mathematics

Ability to perform physical effort as specified by position physical requirements and occupational exposure form.

PREFERRED:                        

High School Diploma or Equivalent
