Job Shift: Shift 2
Shift Details: Shifts scheduled between 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm Shifts required every other weekend and every other holiday

For more than 118 years, Backus Hospital has been the primary source of healthcare services for much of Eastern Connecticut. JOB SUMMARY
Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN), the Mental Health Worker will assist in the delivery of care to patients and their family. The Mental Health Worker fulfills these duties to contribute to the continuity and quality of care that fosters the best interest and well-being of the patient and family.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent, advanced degree preferred
• Two (2) years direct experience in a psychiatric setting or in human services field preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire. Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) certification within 90 days of hire
• Ability to read and understand oral and written instructions, and effectively communicate information. Basic computer skills (including opening/reading email, basic internet use)
