Shift Details: Varying shifts to cover the clinic operating hours of 7am-7:30pm Monday thru Thursday and 7am-5pm on Friday.

Job Summary
Monday – Friday. Must be open to hours between 7:00am-7:00pm, with 2-3 evenings per week required. Travel to other locations may be required for training and orientation purposes.

The Patient Service Representative (PSR) is responsible for providing professional customer service to ensure operational efficiency and promote a positive patient experience. Responsible for Patient Scheduling, Pre-Registration, Registration, Insurance Verification, Insurance Authorization, and ensures patients have been cleared for Rehab Outpatient office visits.

The Patient Service Representative performs a variety of secretarial, billing and clerical duties to include: utilizing the electronic medical record (EMR) to schedule follow up and specialty appointments and process patient charges, coordinating referrals, preparing the proper paperwork and collecting pertinent patient information, answering phones, performing other related duties as assigned.  The Patient Service Representative (PSR) provides administrative support to the office staff.  This position requires understanding of Rehab procedures, and patient history requirements for Rehab procedures.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates or Bachelor’s degree in a clinical or business field preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year of clerical/secretarial experience
  • Referral and Insurance verification experience preferred
  • Basic computer operating knowledge and basic math skills for handling monetary transactions required.
  • Medical office experience, advanced secretarial education, knowledge of medical terminology and third party billing/reimbursement highly preferred
  • Bilingual candidates highly preferred; at a minimum, the ability to understand and to make one’s self understood to all Spanish speaking individuals

Critical Success Factors: Exemplary customer service skills. Excellent interpersonal written and verbal skills are required. Ability to work and handle a fast paced diversified working environment. Requires effective organizational and interpersonal skills needed for anticipating and reacting to various needs of both patients and medical personnel. Ability to multi-task and address multiple priorities simultaneously.
