The Institute of Living, one of the first mental health centers in the U.S., remains one of America’s leading not-for-profit centers for patient care, research and education in the fields of behavioral, psychiatric and addiction disorder. Through our dedicated, experienced and skilled clinicians, we provides patients and their families with the highest quality of personalized care. Programs are offered for children, adolescents and adults struggling with mental illness as well as offering services specializing in Anxiety, Eating Disorders, and Geriatric Services.

Job Summary

Under the mentorship of designated researcher, responsible for scholarly project during the post-doctoral year. Reports to Director.

Identifies, sets goals and carries out a scholarly project, such as research study, case report, and manuscript for publication, during the post-doctoral year.

Conducts data analysis, manuscript writing or grant proposal writing under the direction of appointed a research mentor.
Utilizes appropriate documentation to effectively communicate results and outcomes.

Provides direct patient care under supervision from clinical mentor.

Works as a team player by maintaining constructive working relationships with primary supervisor, peers and health professionals in other disciplines.

Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree in relevant field of study (e.g. exercise physiology or psychology) required or with confirmation date of doctorate degree by university within 2 months of hire.
  • Advanced level of training in clinical or research methods relevant to the position with focus on clinical, research or both required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with working knowledge of research dynamics.
  • Ability to network with all levels of the organization.
