Job Summary
Manages the Recreational Therapists within the Donnelly In-patient setting to ensure a high quality, cost-effective service is delivered by the department in support of the hospital's strategic plan, and the function's goals and objectives. Reports to Director, Inpatient Services.
Job Responsibilities
By analyzing needs, establishes goals and objectives for the department that align with the strategic direction of the organization. Communicates goals and objectives to the staff, supports continuous improvement, and monitors progress throughout the year.
Establishes performance expectations. Coaches and promotes the professional development of staff. Evaluates performance that enables employees to be successful in contributing to the achievement of departmental and individual objectives. Informs and advises superior on hiring and disciplinary actions.
Identifies customers and their needs in order to develop and maintain effective, positive customer relationships, ensuring that needs are met, responding appropriately to difficult interactions, and educating the staff on the importance of quality customer service. Continually and effectively communicates with staff, management, and customers to facilitate the flow of information necessary for the success of the employees, department, function, and the organization.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher with a concentration in Recreational Therapy
Master's degree is preferred
Five years' experience in behavioral health as a a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS)
One year as a clinical supervisor for CTRS
National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC) required: CTRS (Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist) credential
Strong written and verbal communication skills
