Advanced Practitioner - Admitting Hospitalist Role at Windham Hospital

Join the team at Windham Hospital, part of Connecticut's most comprehensive healthcare network, and help provide quality healthcare to the community. As an Advanced Practitioner Admitting Hospitalist, you will work in the department of Hospital Medicine, chart medical history, assess health status, diagnose potential issues, and provide high-quality care. You will receive referrals for admission from the ED, perform H+Ps, and write admitting orders for most admissions. You will also have the opportunity to perform procedures such as central lines and paracentesis/thoracentesis.

To be considered for this role, you must

  • Be a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner Master's program
  • Licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Physician Assistant/Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in Connecticut, and preferably have Acute Care Board Certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse.
  • You should have at least two years of experience as a hospitalist and/or previous extensive experience as a nurse or PA in an inpatient setting.
  • You must have experience practicing as an APP and strong clinical acumen.
  • The ability to adapt quickly and help develop best practices in this position, and to get along well with ED and Hospitalist providers are also crucial.
