Hartford HealthCare Rehabilitation Network is the premier rehabilitation provider in Connecticut. We provide rehabilitation services across the continuum - acute care hospitals, long term care facilities, sub-acute rehabilitation, homecare, outpatient centers, and in community settings such as senior centers, work sites, and schools and colleges. We offer over 30 outpatient locations with a variety of specialists, including oncology, women's health, sports medicine, physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech language, we are known for our commitment to high quality, customer focused outcomes.
Position Description:
We are seeking an experienced Medical Assistant (MA) to join our team. Monday-Friday, Days.
Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and/or Provider, the Medical Assistant performs delegated functions as a member of the patient care team to provide a variety of multi-skilled services. These activities contribute to meeting the health care, safety and comfort needs of patients, and are performed in accordance with all existing regulatory, state and company standards, policies and procedures. (Duties of the Medical Assistant can vary from center to center). Reports to the assigned supervisor.
Specifically, this position includes but is not limited to:
Verifying patient information by interviewing patient; recording medical history; confirming purpose of visit. Preparing patients for examination by; taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature; reporting patient history summary. This position will also include front desk work including making patient calls, appointments and prior authorizations.
Qualifications
- Working experience in a medical setting required.
- Administrative experience required.
- Medical Assistant specific experience highly preferred.
- Must possess effective communication and computer skills.
- CPR certified (or validation within 3 months of hire).
- Physical effort as specified by Position Physical Requirements and Occupational Exposure forms.
Education
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program or Medical Assistant Certification required.
